Clay Haddock, Scott Hudson, and AJ Ristino are excited to embark on this Digital Humanities project exploring the history of Greek Life at Carleton.
Shared Values and Goals
We are all interested in finding an effective way of integrating digital modeling into a narrative history, and in the further development of our digital humanities skill set.
What do we expect from each other?
We expect each other, and ourselves, to be timely and communicative about all aspects of the project, from day-to-day tasks to major deadlines. We are all bringing our individual interests to the project, but will not lose sight of the final project, which is a cohesive final project. Finally, we expect a good faith effort in engaging with the subject matter and finding useful resources.
Communication
We have created a group chat for our members, and expect everyone to send information and respond to peers promptly.
Handling Disagreement
While we do not expect too much disagreement to arise, if it does, we will handle it through in-person, sit-down discussions where all voices are heard and purposefully reflected upon before coming to a democratic conclusion.
Division of Responsibilities
Clay: Managing the final implementation of the text and web sites on a WordPress website, ensuring factual accuracy and aesthetic presentation. He has a lot of experience making WordPress sites, but isn’t the most organized and is working on that.
Scott: Conducting archival research on the subject, writing the textual aspects of the site, and perhaps working on a larger timeline of the literary societies if there is time. He loves history, is a strong writer, and is interested in how digital projects can be used to great effect in the field, but not all of the techniques we have been using this term have come naturally at once.
AJ: Selecting, photographing, and modeling objects from the Carleton Objects using photogrammetry techniques. He is a Computer Science major and has seen success at learning the various tools we have used so far this term, but is very busy this term and is worried about balancing his time during this end of term stretch.
