Our group, consisting of Chris Elliott, Doug Pham, Maya Wolff, Hermela Shiferaw, and Ty Folks, created this website to discuss and showcase our project. In this project, we wanted to investigate where graduates from Carleton of a particular major went after school. After spending much time contemplating which major to choose, we chose to analyze the English majors of Carleton. This is because with the major centered around the English language, we were curious if a geographical pattern could be determined (curious if there would be few internationally-located graduates, or if primarily those residing outside of the U.S would be in the U.K). Upon the creation of the map containing the residencies of Carleton English majors from 2000-2023, we noticed that nearly all graduates resided in the United States. Thus, we sought to determine the most popular states in for these graduates. Using Flourish’s ranking bar charts, we determined the top states where Carleton’s English majors from 2000-2023 currently reside.
