Shared Values and Goals
We are all interested in learning something new while working on this project. We all have our own personal understandings of the large number of student who go on to graduate school after leaving Carleton, but there remain some unknowns as to the most popular fields students go into, the most popular type of advanced degree they pursue, and where the masses tend to go. We are excited to expand our individual knowledge, and make public information that would be useful to other current Carls in our position.
Expectations
We expect each other to be enthusiastic about the project, to create free time in our schedules to meet as a group, and to always remain open-minded so if someone has a different idea we can avoid complications and disagreements.
Communication
When we get the chance to exchange phone numbers, we will text for immediate communication and coordinating meetings. We are currently emailing back and forth but that will change soon. We will use a combination of email and Google Drive to transfer work and materials between members.
Handling Disagreements
We do not envision reaching any moments of disagreement, but we more just don’t want to have any disagreements in the first place so if they arise, we’ll be civilized and discuss each side and make a collective decision and move forward with it.
Division of Labor
We will need to spend more extensive time talking about people’s individual schedules and strengths/weaknesses before assigning specific roles, but it would make the most sense to work in teams of two: one two-some handles the research and data and gets it into csv format and ready to upload to ArcGIS, and the second two-some handles the mapping and styling of the presentation. We would all come together for meetings, presentation practices, and to review the work of the other group.
