Shared values and goals:
We all enjoy music and are really interested in learning about the KRLX’s music trends. We hope to create a successful project that clearly communicates what we want to inform people about.
Expectations from Each Other:
We expect each team member to do their share of the work and be respectful towards each other. We are all smart enough to know how to be a good team member and will try our best to be one.
Communication:
We have created a WhatsApp group chat so we can easily communicate with each other.
Disagreement Resolution Process:
We will have a civilized discussion as adults and try to reach an agreement. If all else fails, since we have a group of five, disagreements will be settled by voting and majority vote wins. We will also all try to be respectful of our teammates’ ideas to reduce potential arguments.
Dividing Responsibilities:
Will S: Make sure everyone is able to do something in the project and have their voice heard.
Liam: Make sure the project stays organized and that we are always caught up to where we should be on the timeline.
Nithin: Clean the data and find data visualizations.
Griffin: Graph the data and look through the archives.
Will H: Hold people accountable for doing their share of the work.
Individual Strengths and Weaknesses:
Will S: My main strengths are communication and cooperation. I am good at keeping teammates in the loop for what needs to be done and other updates. I am also good at listening to teammates’ ideas and compromising if someone disagrees with an idea that I have. One of my weaknesses is that I sometimes procrastinate (less in group projects though because I don’t want to drag down my teammates) which can sometimes lead to falling behind.
Liam: My main strength is organization and staying on top of deadlines. I am one of the KRLX IT engineers, so I have access to the people and information we will need to create our project. I’m also comfortable with scripting and handling data.
Nithin: My strengths include dividing work into manageable chunks and adapting to changing circumstances. I also place a lot of importance on equal distribution of work and communication between group members. In terms of tasks for this project, I believe I could help with any data cleaning and in finding visualizations for the data. I also have a KRLX radio show so I have experience in the studio and could potentially have greater access to necessary resources for this project.
Griffin: My main strengths include cooperation, clear communication and the ability to ask good questions. I could graph the data, and am willing to look through archival things to find changes in the tech that the studio was using. I am also doing a KRLX show this term, so I have that experience.
Will H: I am a pretty good leader with group projects, and generally take the lead in making sure we meet as much as needed and hold people accountable to get their share of the work done. I continue to work on letting others take the lead in group projects, which I will need to do for this project since I am not as experienced with programming as some of my peers, and do not have as much experience with KRLX.
