This was an easy transition from the last mapping project. The online ArcGIS platform has a lot of different ways to present your map. I think it allows you to be very creative. Many humanities projects can benefit from using mapping for data visualization. It allows you to showcase different types of data as well as spatial data on the map. We tried to utilize this by showcasing different types of data on our map.
Our group decided to add each location as a point on the map by using the location attribute on the CSV file. We also added a title using the type attribute so the viewer can have an idea of what process occurred at each location (where it originated, where it was sold from etc.). One thing we also did was add a color scheme using the time attribute. There were some parts of the process that were a little difficult, however, the lab instructions were very clear and allowed us to figure out what to do.
This is our map on the online ArcGIS platform and on the app.
