Midterm Project Link

Above is the post of my midterm project in which I created a line graph that represents the number of times 10 different X-Men appeared on the cover of a comic book (issue # 200-249) and included a break down of my sources, processes, and presentation.

  1. Your graph turned out awesome, the report you wrote to go with it was great as well in justifying your processes and the techniques you used to hammer out the issues with your data. Nice presentation, you should be proud!

  2. I really appreciate your graph. I also like using Flourish because, as shown in your graph, both the high contrasting colors between the lines and the axes along with the interactive pop-ups make the graph very easy to read. For instance, it was very easily determinable to which characters grew in popularity and which ones seemed to “fall off”.

  3. Great job! Your visual model is very clear on what it is showcasing. I like that you used vibrant and different colors for each X-Men character to set them apart. I agree that cleaning the data before inputting it into flourish helps. I did the same, which made life easier, but then again, I still ran into some issues.

  4. Excellent graph, Maya! Your graph is crafted really well, as its easy to interpret regardless of whether or not a viewer has looked at the data set. Flourish is a really great tool as its not only intuitive but its also really simple as well. I also agree that data cleaning is extremely important to modeling data.
